Wow...it is hard to believe that 21 years ago today Glenn and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into our family. Well I welcomed her...Dad was a little late!
I was watching "Flashdance" on TV when I developed a really bad tummyache. (Atleast that's what I thought it was! I wasn't due until Feb. 27th!) After three hours it was still hurting. Glenn had left that morning for Atlanta so I called my neighbor friend to ask her if she thought I may be in labor. She came over and rushed me to the hospital. We were at a toll booth in downtown Orlando, and she asked me how far apart the pains were. I replied, "Oh about 15 min." Well she paid quickly and stepped on the gas. When we got to the hospital I told the nurse I would like something for the uncomfortable pain. She looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Honey, you are about to have this baby...it's too late for that!!!" The next thing I knew my doctor was there and Erin Elizabeth Hoskin made her debut at 4:22 am weighing in at 5 lb 15 oz. She had jet black hair and was very tiny. It was soooo exciting. While I was in the recovery room Glenn called and I told him everything went great. I couldn't wait to tell him we had a baby girl! I could hear the excitement in his voice when I told him. Many other phone calls were made to family and friends. Glenn caught the earliest flight possible and made it home quickly.
Erin was such a WONDERFUL baby. She has now grown up to be a WONDERFUL adult, and we are so very proud of her. I hope the next 21 years slow down and don't go by so fast!!!!!!!! Happy 21st Birthday, Erin!!!!
My Wonderful Family!
